B&GNight-TR – Science & Future Night: Researchers Connecting Climate, Health and Digital Transitions in Türkiye is a national initiative designed to bring science closer to citizens by transforming everyday spaces into creative arenas of discovery. It aims to strengthen public trust in science, promote sustainable lifestyles, and inspire new generations to pursue research careers through direct interaction with scientists. Coordinated by Yildiz Technical University (YTU), in collaboration with Istanbul Technical University (ITU), Gazi University, and the Ministry of National Education (MoNE), the project will transform Istanbul and Ankara into vibrant hubs of curiosity, creativity, and participation. The events will feature interactive experiments, science cafés, thematic exhibitions, artistic performances, and school- based “Researchers at Schools” activities. Through these dynamic experiences, citizens will understand how research connects to climate resilience, human health, and digital transformation. B&GNight-TR integrates citizen science, STEAM education, and digital storytelling into a unified platform that encourages active engagement rather than passive observation. It promotes inclusivity and accessibility with bilingual (Turkish/English) communication, sign language, captioning, and barrier-free venues. The project particularly focuses on students and teachers in low-opportunity districts and rural areas, ensuring that science communication reaches beyond traditional audiences. Over two years, B&GNight-TR will engage more than 40,000 citizens onsite and over 1 million online, including 10,000 pupils and more than 500 researchers, with strong participation of women and young scientists. By combining creativity, data literacy, and environmental awareness, the project will highlight how research contributes to the European Green Deal, the Digital Decade, and the EU Missions on Climate Adaptation and Health.
