The project addresses the most significant—but still largely unpublished—group of Ashurbanipal Library tablets outside the British Museum: ~30 manuscripts and fragments from the royal library at Nineveh that were transferred to the İstanbul Archaeological Museums in the late Ottoman period. Despite their importance, only five of these pieces have ever been edited, leaving major gaps in our understanding of the Library’s original scope, the history of nineteenth-century fieldwork, and the modern dispersal of cuneiform collections
