USABILITY OF FLY ASH AND BORIC ACID IN THE PRODUCTION OF ANORTHITE CERAMIC METERIAL

Abstract

In this study, producing anorthite ceramic material used as the base material of integrated circuit in electronics industry, was tried by using fly ash of thermal power plant and boric acid via power metallurgy metods. Samples obtained by using boric acid in different ratras (2%, 4% and 6% (w/w)) and without ingredient of boron were sintered between 900-1300 degrees C. The pellets were characterized by using XRF. XRF results indicated that the composition of the samples were near to the composition of anorthite composition but they also contained high amounts of impurities.
