Özet

Lead levels in plant and soil samples collected from the vicinity of Ankara-Istanbul highway in Turkey were determined using polarographic method after digestion. The lead levels were in the ppm range 0.5-47.3 in unwashed plants, 0.2-16.6 in washed plants and 1.7-27.0 in soil samples. Some species have accumulated the lead at high ratios. The results are in agreement with data reported in the literature. The concentration of lead in the samples varies depending on the traffic density.
