The need for speed digitization has grown even more pressing since the pandemic broke out, exposing firms’ digital inadequacies and jeopardizing their operational performance. If firms in all industries are to survive and prosper in the new normal, they must undergo a significant transition. Domestic manufacturers aim to embrace Industry 4.0 technology to close the labor price gap and to be cost competitive. Internet of things (IoT) is one of the key factors in adapting to the new normal. In this study, we determine the criteria for evaluating whether IoT devices are safe and ready to adapt to the new normal. We evaluated eight different criteria and determined their impacts on evaluation process with a Fermatean fuzzy CRITIC procedure. Finally, we determined the weights of criteria.
