1st International Architectural Sciences and Applications Symposium (IArcSAS-2021) 27-28 -29 October 2021, Isparta, Turkey, 27 October 2021, vol.1, pp.244-245
Located within
the borders of Cappadocia, Niğde has hosted many cultures over the years.
Traditional Niğde houses have created a unique cultural structure by
synthesizing various cultures in its historical development. In this sense,
traditional houses are original examples with an architectural identity, built
in accordance with a design and construction tradition acquired through
centuries of accumulation.
The architectural
character of Niğde houses shows a regional integrity in general. In the
historical process, it is observed that Niğde houses have continued with the
continuity of the urban texture, including new urban production potentials. In
this sense, Niğde houses were built in the 20th century. It was used until the
change of traditional house construction techniques in the 20th century. With
the modern construction and material techniques that have been used since the
20th century.
It is seen
that the registered housing structure located in Niğde Province, Centre
District, Eskisaray District, block 613, parcel 4, shows the characteristics of
traditional Niğde houses. But today it has undergone some deterioration and
changes. Before the building in question suffers further damage and loses its
original values, it is necessary to document it one by one and determine the
necessary interventions so that it can preserve its original state.
Today, with
the developing technology, structures can be documented as a three-dimensional
model with the laser scanning method, which is one of the easier and more
accurate documentation methods. In the study; A registered traditional housing
structure located in the Central District of Niğde Province, whose values and
problems were mentioned above, is discussed. In this context, the building was
documented with advanced technology documentation methods and conservation
decisions were made with current conservation principles. The ground floor of
the building is rough cut stone, and the upper floor is cut stone. This
building, which belongs to different periods and consists of different
construction techniques, is in an abandoned state today. The current state of
the building has been documented by laser scanning (a survey), and studies have
been carried out to determine the problems and causes of deterioration
(deterioration analysis).
