In this study, switching losses in a single phase hard switching and soft switching inverters have been compared using Orcad simulation program. The soft switching inverter is obtained by inserting a resonance bank into the hard switching inverter. Both hard and soft switching inverters were tested under the same switching frequency and load conditions. Considerable amount of reduction on switching losses in soft switching inverter proposed were achieved.
