We tried to evaluate the prognosis and complications of acute myocardial infarction(AMI) and unstable angina pectoris (USAP) in patients >80 years old. The prognosis and complications of acute coronary events in 68 patients >80 years old (36 female, 32 male) were examined retrospectively. 12 of the male patients and 6 of the female patients died. Total mortality rate was 26%. Female mortality rate was about 9%, whereas male mortality rate was about 17%. As seen, male mortality rate was nearly twice that of the female.
