The defense industry is a sector of strategic importance all over the world. Since defense industry products are sensitive and critical products, quality is the basis of perfection and reliability in this sector. Choosing the right suppliers in the defense industry is very important in terms of product quality, reliability and national security. The quality management system, which ensures continuous monitoring, evaluation and improvement of product quality for suppliers, plays an important role in the identification, evaluation and management of suppliers in the defense industry. This system supports suppliers' quality-oriented approaches and contributes to improving the quality of end products. Therefore, the quality management system of suppliers should be included in the supplier selection process in the defense industry. The aim of the present study is to guide defense industry organizations in assessing the quality management system maturity of their suppliers. For this purpose, firstly, quality management system maturity assessment criteria for the defense industry were determined. Then, the criteria were weighted using AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process), one of the multi-criteria decision making methods. Finally, the selected sample suppliers were ranked according to their quality management system maturity using AHP, ARAS (Addictive Ratio Assessment) and EDAS (Evalution based on Distance from Average Solution) methods.
