Abstract

In this study, groutability of the microfine cement grouts (Rheocem 900) into sands having different particle size distributions is investigated by means of laboratory experiments. Groutability varies with rheological properties of suspension, grouting pressure, grain size distribution of soil, relative density, and fine content of soil. Fine, medium and coarse sands with different fine sand percentages of 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 are grouted with Rheocem 900 suspensions having water/cement (w/c) ratios of 0.8, 1.0, 1.2. The success of groutability ratios in the literature was investigated according to test results. As a result it was seen that fine sand percentage and w/c ratio are important factors that control the groutability.
