Özet

This paper describes an analogy that uses paint colors to address timbre. This analogy is related to the formation, propagation, and perception of sound. In the analogy, a butterfly pattern emerges by combining different colors and amounts of paint to explain the timbre in music. Students can create a butterfly picture, and teachers can use it to describe timbre.
