Improving Reading Skills of Fourth Grade Elemantary Student Who Has Reading Disability

Özet

This research aims to specify the impacts of fluent reading techniques (repeated reading, paired reading and readers' theater) for eliminating reading disability on a forth grade elementary school student. Case study method is employed in this qualitative research. With in the context of this research, first, a student who has reading disability was chosen and reading level of the student was assessed by the researchers. According to student's reading skills level and needs, an individulaized reading program has been preapared for the student. Research was applied and continued for 12 weeks and total of 48 hours. Results of the study showed that student's level of word recognition and reading comprehension has improved from "anxiety level" to "instruction level" after the application.
