Özet

AISI P20 mold steels are widely used to manufacture die molding for plastic parts. In this article, AISI P20 steel was drilled by using uncoated HSS twist drills. In drilling process, (sic)8 mm drill bit, three cutting speed (v:10, 13 and 17 m/min) and three feed rate (f: 0.1, 0.2 and 0.3 mm/rev), and pecking drilling method were used. Taguchi L9 model was performed to design the drilling tests. Cutting forces and torque were measured by a dynamometer in during the experiments. The surface roughness and diameter of drilled holes were checked. Taguchi and ANOVA analyses were done to determine effects of cutting parameters on the experimental results. Grey Relation Analysis (GRA) was used to optimize results of the tests. The results showed that the feed rate was the main effective factor on test results. Moreover, maximum cutting speed (17 m/min) and minimum feed rate (0.1 mm/rev) were optimum cutting parameters.
