In this study, AA 6063 T6 grade aluminum sheets were joined by TIG welding method using alternating and pulsed current. Impact and hardness tests on the joined parts were carried out for measuring the effects of current type on microstructure. Experimental studies showed that, pulsed current lead less heat input, grain refinement of weld metal and hardness increase than alternating current. Impact tests showed that the samples were welded by using pulsed current have more impact energy than that of welded by using alternative current.
