Özet

Submental intubation is a simple and effective alternative method to oral, nasal intubation or tracheostomy especially in maxillo-facial trauma cases. Submental intubation ensures maximal surgical field projection that facilitate fixation, grefting procedures and achieving a complete oclussion. Morbidity and complication rates are also acceptable in this method. In this case report we aimed to present our submental intubation approaches in two patients with dentofacial deformity. The etiology of deformity in first patient was congenital causes while in second post-traumatic injury was the leading factor.
