Abstract
This study investigates the optimization of drilling process parameters for parts fabricated using the Fused Deposition Modeling method (FDM). The primary objective is to minimize tolerance values and enhance machining precision through a hybrid approach. The Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) integrated with factorial design-based Goal Programming (GP) was employed to determine robust processing parameters. Experimental results indicate that optimal performance is achieved using a carbide drill bit, a feed rate of 279–316 mm/min, and a spindle speed of 1000 rpm under cutting fluid conditions. These findings provide actionable insights into high-precision industrial applications of additive manufacturing.
