Abstract

Renewable energy is very important today. Solar energy is also an important renewable energy source. SHE (solar-hydroelectric) energy systems are a type of hybrid energy that occurs when solar and hydro energies use the same energy infrastructures. The usage of hydro and solar hybrid energy systems also allows for the more efficient use of existing capacities without creating a cost of a transformer. In this study, an algorithm has been developed to select the HEPP facilities that can contain efficient SHE systems in the fastest and safest way, in Turkey. With 3 simple questions, it is easy to understand whether any HEPP is suitable for SHE integration.
