© 2021 IEEE.Rectifier circuits have a pivotal role in many home appliances and industrial devices. On the other hand, the non-linear nature of these devices results in power quality degradation in the power system. To minimize the negative impact of rectifiers on the power system, various active rectifier topologies are proposed. Although the active rectifiers show better performance in terms of power quality, the control of such rectifiers needs to be given special attention because it is widely used in different applications. This study proposes a model predictive control (MPC) for the full-bridge boost rectifier with constant switching frequency. This study also presents the design steps of the boost-type rectifier. Furthermore, a traditional MPC controller is used for comparison purposes. The system performances are assessed through Matlab/Simulink.
