Özet
The integration of renewable energy sources (RESs) into modern power systems has enhanced energy continuity while simultaneously increasing system complexity due to their distributed nature. The widespread deployment of distributed generation units has led to the emergence of microgrids, which represent a crucial component of sustainable energy management. One of the most critical events in microgrid operation is islanding, a condition in which the system continues to operate locally in isolation from the main power grid. Under such circumstances, the system requires efficient and reliable methods for timely detection. Islanding detection plays a pivotal role in determining the control strategy of the system during both planned and unplanned disconnections. This study highlights the significance of islanding detection within microgrid architectures and discusses its impact on energy security and supply continuity. Ensuring the protection of critical infrastructures and maintaining reliable energy delivery can be achieved through the operational advantages provided by effective islanding management.
