Abstract

This study contained fluorescence properties of hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) which is an advanced boron product by using ultra violet-visible (UV-visible), XRD, FTIR, SEM. According to characterization results, it was obtained sheet-like honeycomb layered structure of boron nitride. In the experimental study, optical absorption and fluorescence measurements were performed after the pelleted boron nitride was vacuumed at 800 K for 12 hours to remove moisture and organic impurities. It was concluded that the characterization results were concordant with the literature and h-BN showed semi-conductive properties and can be used effectively in electrical and electronic applications as well as photochemical and biotechnological applications due to its fluorescence properties.
