Energy is consumed continuously by people in their daily lives. People use energy in the devices, vehicles, etc. they demand efficient use of energy. Energy efficiency is important not only in the tools and equipment used by people, but also in all sectors where energy is produced and used. One of the equipment used for heating and cooling processes is heat exchangers. There are various types of heat exchangers used for different purposes. In this study, a double pipe heat exchanger is considered. It is aimed to increase the heat transfer with the fin added to the inner tube. In this study, the effect of a porous fin made for heating the air passing through the pipe on the flow and temperature of the combustion air was investigated. The effect of the height of the fin (h =3 mm, 5 mm, 7 mm), its porosity (epsilon = 0.1, 0.2, 0.3), and the laminar (Re = 100, 250, 500) and turbulent (Re = 25000, 45000, 60000) flow have been investigated. When the friction factor is examined, it decreases with the flow velocity and increases with the height of the fin. While the flow velocity and temperature difference decreases under laminar conditions, the height of the blade increases with the temperature difference in turbulent flows.
