Qualitative research methods were used. Data collection in qualitative research is often preferred as a means of document analysis techniques were utilized. In the first section of the study, the climate related perceptions in Turkish proverbs were analyzed. To this end, a literature review about the proverbs related to the climate were searched from seven different sources (Aksoy (1970), Otuken (1971), Gurbuz (2006), Atasoy (2006,) Parlatir (2008,) Yurtbasi (2012) ve Turk Dil Kurumu (2012)) and similar ones were excluded. Sayings have been classified according to the natural elements consulting the experts. As a result of this study there were 106 Turkish sayings determined about the climate, climatical factors and interaction between the human and the climatical factors. The sayings were classified according to the two two subtitles and it was observed that 65 of them were related to climate and seasons and 41 of them were related to the climatical elements. The analyses included the proverbs about the climates and its relationship with geopraphy. When the the concept of season is examined in Turkish sayings it is seen that the most popular season was summer while the winter months were not very popular and winter is regarded a period to be careful. At the end of the study, the connections between proverbs and geopraphy, and proverb's importance in geopraphy education were evaluated.
