Abstract

Temperature fields in electron and lattice sub-systems are simulated using the two-equation heating model for gold. Temperature field and entropy generation during the heating pulse are predicted numerically. It is found that at high power intensity, entropy generation in lattice and electron sub-systems is larger than that corresponding to coupling of both systems.
