© 2022 IEEE.Digital image is a data format used in different areas today. However, transmission of images via unprotected channels increases risks of attacks and threats. Due to distinctive features of images, stronger algorithms are needed for encryption. Typically, symmetrical stream encryption algorithms work faster than other methods developed so far. However, it requires a strong pseudo-random number generator. In this study, a novel secure image encryption algorithm by using chaotic mapping functions has been suggested. It is strong against decryption as well as being fast, flexible and having expandable key length capability.
