In this study; threads are tapped in drilled holes on an AA5083 alloy with HSS machine taps TiN coated and uncoated. Holes are drilled by using HSS twist drills of which four different diameters are used. Threads are tapped in these holes by using different taps forms. Cutting forces are measured during thread tapping by a dynamometer. The effect of the hole diameters on cutting forces are investigated. Experiments performed on a CNC Milling machine with cutting oil. The experimental results have shown that the hole diameters affect torques and cutting forces occurred during the tapping process.
