Özet

Diffusion bonding of powder metallurgy 10% bronze bearing to a low carbon steel case during sintering was investigated. Green bearing with a density of 6.3 g/cm 3 (72%) was mounted to the steel case with various tiht fits and then sintered together. Sintered density of the bearing was 6.5 g/cm 3 (74%). Closure of pores at the outer regions of the bearing, where contact with the steel case was taking place, was observed in the microstructural examinations. Sinter-bonding treatment did not produce a significant bond strength between bronze bearing and steel case.
