This case study includes the attempts and assessments related to determination and elimination of reading and comprehension difficulties of a second grade student with reading and comprehension deficiencies. The Informal Reading Inventory was used to assess the reading and comprehension deficiencies of the subject. It was found that the reading and comprehension problems of the subject were related to lack of motivation. A training program for 11 weeks was implemented in this study to eliminate the reading and comprehension problems of the subject. With the purpose of ensuring the motivation of the subject for reading, 7 informal reading pieces based on the personal characteristics and daily experiences of the subject were written by the researchers. The reading pieces were edited by replacing the names of the main characters with the name of the subject in the Turkish textbooks. After establishing the motivation of the subject for reading, the "Repeated Reading Method" was chosen to eliminate the reading disabilities and studies were continued with the repeated reading method. The subject, who was in the Anxiety Level according to the pre-test results, reached the Instructinal Level according to the final test results.
