Özet

Structural, mechanical and thermal properties of boron carbide nanostructures (0D, 1D, 2D) have been reviewed. Some results obtained from classical molecular dynamics simulations and quantum chemical calculations, as well as experimentally available data, have been presented. 0D structures include cluster models with various size of nanoparticles. 1D structures include nanotubes and nanorods with various sizes and symmetries. 2D structures include monolayer nanoribbons and nanosheets. In all the models the boron and carbon composition (BnCm) may change, both n = m and n ≠ m are possible. Each model shows different characteristics depending on composition, size, shape, dimension, and applied external strain at different temperatures.
