Road transportation of hazmats is special since it requires consideration of various actors who pursue different goals. In this study, an environmental risk analysis model is developed to help assess environmental risks for fuel products shipments. The study proposes a model to analyse the environmental consequences of accidents on the basis of the environmental elements, such as water element, soil element, and featured areas. In order to make large-scale implementations possible, GIS are utilized when using the existing models as well as during the development of the environmental risk analysis model. Transportation of liquid fuel (gasoline and diesel) and LPG are chosen as the main focus of this analysis. The priority weights of each environmental criteria entered into the model are calculated by using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) before risk models are implemented in the road network of Izmir-Manisa-Aydin-Mugla-Denizli. The most convenient route according to the criteria set is determined after case study.
