Özet

Media literacy; with its widely accepted definition, it is the ability to access various types of media messages (visual, audio, printed, etc.), to analyze and evaluate the accessed media from a critical perspective, and to produce your own media messages. In addition, it can bring the ability to access, analyze, evaluate and transmit messages in a wide variety of written and nonwritten formats (television, video, cinema, advertisements, internet, etc.). It is very important to reflect, inform and teach individuals information through the media. Likewise, since the beginning of their existence, humans have met their various basic needs in order to survive from the natural environment in which they live. Improving environmental awareness will enable people to live in a healthier and safer environment, and this will only be possible by raising people with the necessary and sufficient qualifications. One of the causes of deep-rooted environmental problems in a country is lack of awareness, which is at the heart of inappropriate environmental management and incorrect use of environmental resources. Therefore, raising a society's awareness through media is one of the necessary strategies for the effective achievement of environmental goals and objectives. Raising public awareness of environmental issues is really important. The influence of the media in sensitizing the public on environmental issues and their central role in the fight against environmental problems are indispensable. In our study, the effect of media literacy on environmental sensitivity and environmental behavior change was examined. As a result of multiple linear regression analysis, it was determined that the independent variables of media literacy and environmental sensitivity significantly predicted the dependent variable of environmental behavior.
