The aim of the study is to examine whether the adolescence’s aggression tendencies significiantly differ according to their perceived skills in problem solving behaviors and attitudes from the aspects of gender and grade level factors .
The study group in this research is comprised of students who are attending to the 9th, 10th and 11th grades of two high schools in Ankara.
In this study to determine adolescence’s aggression tendencies and their perceived skills in problem solving behaviors and attitudes, The Aggression Questionnaire developed by Buss & Perry, (1992) and The Problem Solving Inventory (PSI) developed by Heppner & Petersen (1982) have been used. As indicators of aggression tendencies, The Aggression Questionnaire’s total and subscale’s Physical Aggression (PA), Verbal Aggression (VA), Anger (A) and Hostility (H) ) scores have been taken. The Problem Solving Inventory (PSI) developed by Heppner and Petersen (1982) consists of three factors: (a) Problem Solving Confidence (PSC), (b) Approach-Avoidance Styles (AAS), (c) Personel Control (PC).
To reach to the main purpose of the current study, the data have been collected and will be analysed by using Multiway Anova and Multivarate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA) techniques. Afterwards the findings will be presented and interpreted.
