Özet
AZ91 matrix, BaSO4 and SiC ceramic particles reinforced hybrid and composite materials were produced by using the powder metallurgy method. Half value layer (HVL), macroscopic cross section (ΣR), tenth value layer (TVL), relative ratio (I/Io), mean free path (MFP) parameters, which maintain information about the radiation permeability properties of the produced AZ91 + 15% BaSO4, AZ91 + 10%BaSO4, AZ91 + 7.5%BaSO4 + 7.5%SiC (15% hybrid), and AZ91 + 15%SiC hybrid/composite materials against slow neutrons were investigated. Among the four samples analyzed in Am-241/Be isotropic neutron radiation source, the material with the highest macroscopic cross section was AZ91 + 15%SiC. It was observed that the ductility of the composite materials increased as a result of decreasing the weight percentage of BaSO4 reinforcement material in the AZ91 matrix.
