Abstract

Continuous security operations are the critical part of information and communication technologies. Biggest global network internet is full of threats which are getting more sophisticated, evolving and aggressively increasing. Recently, home internet users are intensively the most targetted victims of advanced security threats. Modem is the home network gateway which is responsible for establishing internet connection to users. Although there is a firewall solution on modems, their capabilities are limited to accomplish certain tasks. Similar solutions are also lack of capability in terms of updating and capacity. In this research, CPU performance and capacity rates of a powerful security solution with intrusion detection abilities is tested and results are evaluated.
