In this experimental study, the effect of brake lining, which is one of the friction surfaces, was investigated on brake forces. Different brake linings comercially available, were used in the experiments. Results of the experiments were determined differently from the literature that the friction coefficient μ were thought in the constants and brake forces have been determined as a function of pedal forces Ff = a + bFp instead of F f = α μ Fp. Brake forceses of the brake linings in old, new and different compenents of materials the properties of which are not known and friction coefficients were compared with eachother. In the study, the brake forces of old brake linings were compared with the new brake linings in the same pedal forces and it has been found out that it decreased by 35 - 41% in the old brake linings.
