Özet

Suppurative thyroiditis are rare, but life-threatening, often bacterial infections of the thyroid gland. In case of congenital malformations such as pyriform sinus fistula or thyroglossal duct cyst, an increase in the frequency of infection is observed. Abscess formation may occur in suppurative thyroiditis. In the presence of recurrent thyroid abscess, 4th branchial sinus anomaly should be considered. In this article, a two-and-a-half-year-old girl who was admitted to the hospital due to swelling that developed in the midline neck and had recurrent thyroid abscess due to the 4th branchial arc cyst is presented to the attention of clinicians.
