Abstract

Two new Hofmann-type complexes, M (1,3-thiazolidine-2-thione)(2) Ni(CN)(4) (where M = Ni and Cd), were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, magnetic susceptibility data, IR and Raman Spectroscopy. Their structure consist of planar infinite polymeric layers of {M-Ni(CN)(4)}(infinity). 1,3-thiazolidine-2-thione coordinated to Matom above and below this layers is monodentate and S-bonded in these complexes.
