At the Lausanne Peace Conference, where peace negotiations were held between the Entente states/Allies and the Ankara Government following the victory of the National Struggle, many long-standing problems were attempted to be solved; in this context, tough negotiations were held between the parties. One of these is was the minorities Issue. This is because Western states, including Sevres They wanted to maintain their advantages in the new period. The Turkish delegation, on the other hand, displayed an attitude that prioritized national interests against the wide-ranging demands regarding minorities and the legal and terminological moves on this issue, and tried to reach a solution based on international law and the principle of reciprocity. The aim of this article is to discuss how the minorities issue was finalized in the Lausanne Peace Treaty by comparing it with the Treaty of Sèvres article by article and to reveal the stages of the implementation of the issue in the Republican Period. Thus, while deepening the research on the subject, it is aimed to add depth to the research with the implementation methods and reflections of the issue until today. The study, which was prepared with using qualitative research and analysis methods, benefited from the literature on the subject, especially the Lausanne minutes, treaty texts and reports prepared on this subject.
