Özet
Software development in avionics is challenging due to certification processes. In order to provide flexibility in the certification process, the parametric approach should be considered during software development. In DO-178C, Parameter Data Items (PDIs) provides this flexibility by externalizing configuration values from software, such as hard-coded thresholds, limits, or control gains, so that behavior can be tuned without modifying the source code. This paper defines an approach for PDIs that is applicable for design assurance levels in DO-178C. This approach reduces the cost and effort of re-verification and re-certification processes and provides re-usability and operational flexibility. An implementation paradigm is also given to clarify the approach.
