Synthesis and antinociceptive activity of some 1-phenyl-2-(2-benzothiazolinone-3-yl) ethanones and their reduced derivatives

Abstract

Ten 2-benzothiazolinone derivatives have been synthesized and their structure have been elucidated by IR, 1H NMR spectral data and elemental analyses. Antinociceptive activity of the compounds has been investigated by modified Koster test in mice using aspirin as a reference. The reduced ethanol derivatives have been found more active than corresponding ethanones.
