Türkçe Özet:
Bu çalışma, cami mimarisinde kullanılan formların anlamsal bağlarını araştırmaktadır. İslam'da ibadet için belirli bir mabet formu zorunluluğu bulunmamakla birlikte, cami mimarisi zamanla işlevsel gereksinimler (örn. barınma, kıble yönü) ve temel teolojik ilkeler doğrultusunda şekillenmiştir. Makale, mihrap, minber, avlu gibi kilit mimari elemanları analiz ederek, bunların sadece biçimsel gelenekler olarak değil, İslami öğretilere, kullanışlılık prensiplerine ve cemaat pratiğine dayanan yanıtlar olarak evrimini izlemektedir. Çalışma, formalizmin ve gösterişin bu temel ilkelerden nasıl sapabildiğini eleştirel bir gözle incelemektedir. İşlev, sembolizm ve İslami hükümler arasındaki etkileşimi irdeleyerek, çalışma, cami tasarımında mimari form ile dini pratik arasındaki anlamlı ilişkiyi açıklamayı, temel özellikleri sonraki eklemelerden veya yanlış yorumlamalardan ayırt etmeyi hedeflemektedir.

English Abstract:
This study investigates the semantic links inherent in the architectural forms commonly employed in mosque design. While Islam does not prescribe a mandatory temple structure, functional necessities (e.g., shelter, directional focus for prayer) and core theological principles have historically guided the development of mosque architecture. This paper analyzes key elements such as the mihrab, minbar, and courtyard, tracing their evolution not as mere stylistic conventions, but as responses grounded in Islamic teachings, usability requirements, and communal practice. It critically examines how formalism and ostentation can diverge from these foundational principles. By exploring the interplay between function, symbolism, and Islamic precepts, the study aims to elucidate the meaningful relationship between architectural form and religious practice in mosque design, distinguishing essential characteristics from later accretions or misinterpretations.
