Özet

The explosion of computer technology led tremendous developments in many areas including web based applications and medical device technologies. Medical devices technology (MDT) is a multidisciplinary study area aims to develop devices intended for use in medical diagnosis of disease or other conditions, or in easing, treatment, or prevention of disease. The fast developments in medical device arises the needs of new teaching materials and the needs of periodical in service training. Meanwhile, the developments in web based applications opened an attractive channel for both trainers and trainees. This trend started to be enounced with core objectives of many public and private sector. On the other hand, this rapid development brought some difficulties of adoption and penetration of new technologies into vocational education due to its competency based nature. To overcome these difficulties advanced web based distance learning technologies should be used. While offering to use and describe them how to use these technologies we use general design procedure step by step. However, we often neglect the readiness of the trainees, their approach to web based (vocational) in service training during the design process. This paper presents the investigation results of medical devices technology teachers (MDTT's) approaches, their attitudes/aspect and opinions about the web-based distance education for in-service training. © 2010 IADIS.
