Proceedings of 3rd International Civil Engineering and Architecture Congress (ICEARC’23), Trabzon, Türkiye, 12 - 14 Ekim 2023, cilt.1, ss.380-394
Purpose: Three-dimensional concrete printing (3DCP) technology is still an emerging method in the construction industry and is currently the focus of interest for many researchers. Understanding this technology's current status and potential is crucial in guiding academic studies. In this context, this study aims to evaluate the current situation and potential of 3DCP technology in the AEC (architecture, engineering, and construction) industry.
Study design/methodology/approach: Within the scope of the study, bibliometric analysis was used, and 169 articles were reached in the Web of Science database according to the determined criteria. VOSviewer and bibliophily programs were used to determine the annual number of publications, countries' publication production, number of citations, keywords, and content analysis.
Findings: According to the results, the number of publications on 3DCP technology reached its highest level in 2022.China is the most productive country with 115 publications and the most cited country with 1136 citations. According to the findings based on the content of the reviewed articles, research on 3DCP technology is mainly focused on construction, performance, and design. In this context, 36% of the 50 most cited papers were focused on construction, 54% on performance, and 10% on design.
Originality/value: Within the scope of the TUBITAK 1002 project coded 122M876, it is aimed to form the basis of the project by investigating the importance of Construction, Performance, and Design in 3DCP in the literature.
