Santral işitsel işlemleme bozuklukları akademik becerilerde bozukluk, dil öğrenim güçlüğü, iletişim problemleri gibi pek çok belirti gösterebilir. Özellikle çocuklarda diğer çocukluk çağı bozukluklarıyla karışabilir veya birlikte görülebilir olması nedeniyle fark edilmesi ve tanılanması zordur. Bu nedenle uygun tedavi yaklaşımlarının uygulanabilmesi için çocuğun mevcut bozukluğunun doğru tanılanması önemlidir. Literatürde ölçekler, elektrofizyolojik testler ve davranışsal testler gibi birçok değerlendirme aracı bulunmaktadır. Bu araçlardan ölçekler daha çok tarama amaçlı kullanılır ve çeşitli durumlarda işitsel işlevle ilgili değerli bilgiler sağlayabilirler. Davranışsal testler santral işitsel fonksiyonlara yönelik tanısal değerlendirme amacıyla kullanılmaktadır. Elektrofizyolojik testler ise santral işitsel işlemleme bozukluğunu olduğunu doğrulayabilir ancak fonksiyonel bilgi vermez. Bu araçlardan her biri santral işitsel işlemleme becerilerinin farklı bir alt basamağını incelemektedir. Santral işitsel işlemleme bozukluğunun tanılanması için değerlendirmek istenen alt basamaklara uygun yöntemlerin seçilerek değerlendirme prosedürü oluşturmak gereklidir. Ancak ulusal ya da uluslararası düzeyde standart bir prosedür bulunmamaktadır. Bu nedenle bu derlemenin amacı mevcut yöntemlerden çocuklarda santral işitsel işlemleme değerlendirmesinde en çok tercih edilenlerin içerikleri ve uygulama yöntemleri hakkında bilgi vermektir. Bu bilgilerle mevcut çalışmaların daha iyi anlaşılması ve gelecek çalışmalarda veya klinikte tarama / tanısal değerlendirme bataryaları oluşturulması hususunda başta odyologlar olmak üzere alanda çalışan araştırmacı ve klinisyenlere yardımcı olması amaçlanmıştır.

Central auditory processing disorders can show many symptoms such as impairment in academic skills, language learning difficulties, and communication problems. It is difficult to recognize and diagnose, especially in children, because it can be confused or coexisting with other childhood disorders. For this reason, it is important to correctly diagnose the child's current disorder in order to apply appropriate treatment approaches. There are many assessment tools in the literature such as scales, electrophysiological tests and behavioral tests. Of these tools, scales are mostly used for scanning purposes and can provide valuable information about auditory function in various situations. Behavioral tests are used for diagnostic evaluation of central auditory functions. Electrophysiological tests can confirm that there is a central auditory processing disorder, but they do not provide functional information. Each of these tools examines a different sub-level of central auditory processing skills. In order to diagnose central auditory processing disorder, it is necessary to create an evaluation procedure by selecting appropriate methods for the sub-steps to be evaluated. However, there is no standard procedure at national or international level. Therefore, the purpose of this review is to provide information about the contents and application methods of the most preferred methods in the assessment of central auditory processing in children. With this information, it is aimed to help researchers and clinicians working in the field, especially audiologists, in understanding the current studies better and in creating screening / diagnostic evaluation batteries in future studies or in the clinic.
