Abstract

In this study, by using friction stir welding method AA 1050 Aluminium. Plates were joined in butt position and the mechanical properties of the occurring joint are examined. During welding, rotational speed of the mixer’s tip and welding speed are choosen as the variable parameters. While weld peneration rate in accelerating mixer’s tip rotational speed was static, it was seemed that heat input increased and hardness and tensile strength of the material decreased. There fore weld penetration rate was increased at the accelerating mixer’s tip rotational speed and with the decrease the heat amount entering into the material it was determined that there is an increase in the material’s mechanical properties.
