Atomic force microscopy and immunomagnetic separation techniques were combined in order to characterize Salmonella enterifidis isolated from saline solution by using Dynabeads((R)) anti-Salmonella. After the isolation procedure, S. enteritidis, anti-Salmonella beads and the bead-bacteria complexes were imaged and measured by AFM. The dimensions were compatible with the literature and the interaction between bead and the bacteria was clearly demonstrated.
