The study of postoperative infections and antibiotic susceptibility in orthopaedic patients

Özet

22 patients with orthopaedic device related infection were studied at the Ankara Trafik Hospital during 1995 September and 1996 April. We examined the etiological agents of this infections 30 bacteria were isolated such as 10 coagulate negative Staphylococci, 6 coagulase positive Staphylococci, 3 Klebsiella, 3 Enterobacter, 2 E coli, 2Corynebacterium, 1 Acinetobacter. More than one microorganism were found 5 of 22 patients (22.8%). 8 of 10 (80%) coagulate negative Staphylococcus have positive slime producing factor which were stained with Congo red agar.
