Özet

The purpose of study is to determine candidate science teachers' eco-centered perspective level towards the environmental problems. The sample of the research is consisted of total 93, teacher candidates who were in the 3rd class in Science Education Department of big university in Ankara in 2009-2010 spring semester. Eco-centered perspective scale which includes 23 items has been used as the data gathering tool. This scale was prepared by the researcher. In order to check the reliability coefficient of the scale, the designed scale was administered to 203 candidate science teachers. Scale's reliability analyze was made and its value of cronboach alpha was found as .71. For the validity of the scale, the opinions of 5 experts were taken. In addition, factor analyze was made for structure validity. Finally, the result obtained in the research is that candidate science teachers' eco-centered perspective level towards the environmental problems showed differences according to scale items.
