Abstract

With the return decree prepared in November 1918, Ottoman government allowed the Armenians, who were forced leave out of the battle region, to their homelands. While they were returning home, they also restarted their actions to found an independent Armenia in Cilicia. Therefore, they were very happy about their hometown's invasion by the countries that have economic and cultural opportunities in the region. In this study, Turkish. Armenian relationship after the invasion of Marash firstly by the British, then the French with the help of Armenians and the relations after the retreat of French with the help of Turkish resistance will be examined. The American missionaries' effects on Turkish-Armenian relationships and the Armenians' need to leave the country after the victory of Turkish army in the south and west fronts will also be examined. This study is based on Ottoman archives and their comparisons with the witness who experienced this term first hand.
