Özet

The increase in population, the increase in collective living spaces and human contact, tourism, wars, migrations and lack of attention to hygiene rules increase the incidence of microbiological fungi and bacteria in standing. These factors facilitate both the reproduction and transmission of the microbes that cause the disease (Kawai, 2017). On the other hand, general health problems such as diabetes, obesity, malnutrition, and circulatory disorders facilitate the formation of foot fungus and bacteria (Özkan, 2018). Bacteria can adhere to almost any surface and multiply, forming structurally complex communities called biofilms. Bacteria in the biofilm develop in multicellular aggregates covered with the extracellular matrix they have formed (Öztürk, 2017). In this study, it is aimed to reveal the preventive effects of boric acid-containing flexible polyurethane (PU) foam against fungus and foot bacteria on comfort plates called fusped, which are becoming widespread in sports shoes used daily.
