Özet
This article proposes a model predictive voltage control (VMPC) method for single-ended primary-inductor converters (SEPICs). The conventional voltage control is based on generating the reference inductor current with a regulator, such as a PI regulator, and controlling the current using the model predictive control (MPC) method. In this article, the inductor current reference is generated based on the voltage error between the predicted and reference voltages in the MPC algorithm. Thus, the proposed VMPC method achieves current reference generation and current control without using an additional regulator. Therefore, the dynamic performance of the controller is improved compared with the conventional methods such as the PI-MPC method. The effectiveness of the proposed VMPC method is investigated through experimental studies performed under variations in the input voltage, load resistance and reference voltage. In addition, the results are compared with the conventional PI-MPC method. It is shown that the proposed VMPC method exhibits faster dynamic responses and less overshoot or undershoot in the output voltage during the transitions.
